Why has the data on the county monitoring well data website not been updated since 2023? (Manfred D. Red Bluff 7/25/26) Link
How many monitoring wells does Tehama County have and where are they located? Where can I view the data?
Why does the county water website not have a searchable Q&A page and a forum style page where questions, comment, and ideas be posted? It is nearly useless as it exists now.
Does Tehama County plan to exempt domestic users of less than 2 acre feet per year from the tax since the cost of tax collection and accounting would likely exceed the amount of tax collected? Are they still seriously considering a tax collection tax?
Are low-income residents going to be issued tax waivers per California State Water Resources Control Board guidelines? (Ray B. Corning 7/28/26) Notes
Collecting water usage data from municipal water subscriber billing within the county would be an accurate and low cost way to compile city dweller data, is that being done?
How does the county plan on taxing per acre foot if the water is not metered? Are they just going to WAG it (Wild A$$ Guess) ?
Having spent $15 million on a plan in the last couple years, we should have a pretty deluxe plan in our possession, subsequent annual plans should be far cheaper since it is only a matter of updates? Who had oversight of the grant expenditures? Where can citizens view a detailed spreadsheet?
Why is the County so totally focused on creating a whole new tax (which is not mandated) instead of focusing on effective plan (which is mandated) that can be funded from the general tax fund ? Why does the county say they have no money in the budget and yet not understand the fact county taxpayers have no room in their budgets for yet another tax either.
Who has control of county groundwater website content and what is the cost the county to build and maintain the site.
What is a recharge project? Where are they located? How are they suppose to function?
The offer of incentives, to owners drilling new wells, to install county data acquisition equipment at startup would be an easy, fast, and relatively inexpensive method of building a vast well monitoring network. Is the county doing, or considering this?
Has this new water tax plan been approved by County Consul?
Do we actually have a plan from all the previous grant money? If so , how hard would it be to run it through AI to strip out all the buzz words and fluff to end up with an actual readable base for annual plans?
If recharge projects are just ponds, as they appear to be, has the county considered options to encourage land owners to construct them, I.e., no permit fees, a standardized engineering plan, and such. Many landowners already have the will, equipment, labor, and knowledge, required for management of surface water.
Self build ponds would save the county huge sums of money.
How are other counties plans compare to Tehama County’s?
Have any counties turned management of the requirements over to the state to prevent another county level bureaucracy?
Does the Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo, 603 U.S. 369 (2024), affect this state agency's unfunded mandate?
Why was this plan, that had years to be fully developed with the grant money and time to be presented to the voters for approval, why did this not happen?
